Some Pietàs

Here are some versions of the Pietà (Italian word meaning “pity”, here referencing the image of the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Christ). It’s a traditional religious subject, & while I’m not a religious person, I find it a poignant image to work with. Here are some of my versions:
