Medusa’s Tangled Hair

This was a drawing I did back in 1992. It has been in various places on the web before, though previously the image was not as clear as I would’ve liked. With advances in digital photography (as well as advances in my own technical skillset), I now have a much better photograph of this piece, presented below:

The drawing is brush & ink on paper, 25.5″ x 19.5″ approx. Done whilst I lived in Paris.

Melancholy’s Nest

This is a new brush & ink drawing, at least partially inspired by Albrecht Dürer’s famous engraving, Melencolia. However, this is not exactly a copy, I merely took Dürer’s piece as a starting point to go somewhere else.

St. John the Divine on Patmos Creating the Book of Revelation

I hope the title pretty much says it all here. This is for my ongoing “Heaven and Hell” series, which should comprise around 100 images on that theme. This one depicts St. John on the Greek island of Patmos in the process of writing the Book of Revelation (the last book of the New Testament that deals with prophecy and Apocalypse). Inspired by images by Bosch and others.

Size of the drawing is 23.5″ x 18″. Done in 2011.
