The Boy with the Sky in a Bowl

This is a small ink drawing from 2006, done for the Myths & Monsters show that I had at the Barrett House in Poughkeepsie, NY. I find this to be one of those magical little drawings that really makes no particular sense, but runs off its own inner logic. I am drawn to enigmatic paintings like Giorgione’s Tempest (go Google it if you don’t know it), which have either no particular meaning or discernable narrative, or their meaning or narrative has been lost. People set too much store in meaning.
