The Golem

This was a small drawing I did in 2002 that is now in a private collection:

The Golem was a creature made of clay that came to life to protect the Jewish people of Prague, I believe. Coincidentally, the Golem also featured in Michael Chabon’s Kavalier and Clay, but that’s another story…

In 2004, I did a color version of the same image:

As much of my work deals with mythologies, I’ll probably create another golem someday.
