And Let’s Not Forget Cyclops

The eye has it. Looking over the Medusa images below, it reminds me I should do a similar “looking back” feature on Cyclops. Here are some of my versions of him:

Medusa Over the Years

The image of Medusa has been a recurring theme in my work for years. Today, I did a new version entitled, “Medusa’s Gaze”. To celebrate this event, a black snake (an adder?) about 3.5 feet long came & looked in the French doors at the side of my studio, until our cat tried to attack it. Anyhow, in honor of Medusa & the snake (& the brave but foolish cat), here are some Medusas from over the years:

Mother & Child, 2001

Here are a couple of sketches I’ve salvaged from an incomplete sketchbook circa 2001:

The drawings were slightly too¬†wide to fit on my scanner, so there is a little bit missing from the edges, though it doesn’t make a big difference. Also, it was from a spiral-bound sketchbook, so I cropped off the little holes at the top, which I found distracting. I’m glad I found these drawings, they could be developed into paintings at some stage. At the very least, they deserve consideration for future development in some form.
